What I'm playing - July 2011
I've been grinding my way through Crysis 2 for the past couple of weeks. Yeah, a hard-core gamer scoffs that it is taking me so long, but I'm a casual gamer that has limited time on the Xbox. Still, Crysis 2 is taking a little longer than I would have expected. I believe it's because I am having a hard time getting truly immersed in the game. I'm not sure if that is due to the story, or the shooting mechanics (which I struggle with), or something else. At the moment, though, I'm about three-quarters of the way through and am playing as "soldier"...the game's normal level.
I've also been spending time on Lumosity. Lumsosity is a brain training site with dozens of mini-games aimed at improving your cognitive skills. I hit it about once a day; have completed the basic training; and am nearly finished with the Attention Course. There are a couple of mini-games that I'm addicted to...the rain-drops, where you have to rapidly solve simple math problems, and penguin pursuit, where you race through a maze. Anyway, I've worked my Brain Performance Index over 1,100.
